* Larry Lattimore - Larry has been a member of POWER from the very beginning, in 1997. He was a lead organizer of workfare workers at SF General Hospital. Larry is the co-chair of the Living Wage Coalition and has been active in local struggles against police brutality.
• Nora Calderón - Nora has been a POWER member since 2000, and has come to be known as our ‘Sub-Comandante.’ She is a Mexican immigrant who has been active in Latina community groups in San Francisco. She has organized dozens of members into the organization and has represented POWER at actions and conferences in Los Angeles and New York. Nora is a single mother of two sons.
• Ed Willard – Ed joined POWER over six years ago as a GA workfare worker. He organized GA workfare workers at MUNI yards and different workfare sites across the city, and has been a tactical leader in the recent campaign against Prop N. In addition to his work with POWER, Ed is a skilled carpenter and construction worker.
• JoAnn Sanders – JoAnn became a member of POWER in 2003 when she was a Welfare Worker at GLIDE. She was a foster mother for eight years. She is currently a member of St. Andrew’s Baptist Church and a volunteer with the Coalition of Legal Professionals.
• Ace Tafoya – Ace joined POWER in 2002, when he was working as a journalist for Poor Magazine and was assigned to write a story about one of POWER’s campaigns. Ace continues to write for Poor Magazine and is an active supporter of World Can’t Wait in San Francisco. He is a leader of POWER’s Bayview Hunters Point Campaign Project.
• Steve Williams - Steve is a co-founder and the Executive Director of POWER. Prior to founding POWER, Steve was the welfare rights organizer of the San Francisco Coalition on Homelessness. In 1998, he was the recipient of the Do Something Brick Award, which honors young people who use their talents to take action that measurably strengthens their local communities. He graduated from Standard University in 1992.
