A New Look for POWER's Bayview Office

After more than a year of searching POWER was finally able to obtain some office space in the Bayview district of San Francisco in February of 2009; which is one of the communities we work most closely with.

Unfortunately we never quite had the resources or capacity to turn our Bayview office space into the fully functional space we had imagined it to be; that is until we heard about an organization called Rebuilding Together San Francisco.

POWER was recently selected as the community facility site for Rebuilding Together San Francisco's 2010 renovation program on MLK Jr. Day, in partnership with Kaiser Permanente. Through Rebuilding Together San Francisco (RTSF) we were also lucky to receive the pro bono expertise of Debra Baida, a professional organizer (a different kind of organizer than POWER is used to working with). Another piece of the puzzle that fell into place was our opportunity to work with a group of SFSU Interior Design students. While completing a project they had for a class they ended up producing a beautiful and functional design plan for our Bayview office.

Here are some photos of the amazing transformation.

All of us at POWER would like to extend our deepest thanks and appreciation to everyone that helped create our new space;

  • All of the hardworking staff at Rebuilding Together San Francisco
  • All of the staff and volunteers from Kaiser that came through
  • Debra Baida
  • All of the students from the SFSU design team
We are forever grateful that all of our paths crossed. Thank you!
